Working Here

As the largest student employer on campus, Dining Services has a team of more than 500 students who work at the J, Depot, Library Cafe, Giant's Cupboard, College Creek Marketplace, Hilltop Marketplace, Catering, and Windows Café.

They, along with staff, are part of a community that’s dedicated to whipping up tasty, nutritious meals for the entire campus.  Students can work up to 18 hours per week while attending school. Students start at $10.50 per hour, with the opportunity for raises once a year, and are paid twice per month on the 7th and 22nd.

Some of the benefits of working for Dining Services include:

  • Convenient location to commute from work to class
  • Ability to work around class schedules
  • Workers' leave during University breaks
  • Meal discounts
  • Direct deposit (Note: This is not required. But to enroll, you will need to provide bank account information, including routing and account numbers)

Managers at all dining locations hire their own employees and set work schedules.

The J, Library Cafe, Giant's Cupboard, College Creek Marketplace, Hilltop Marketplace, Catering, The Depot, and Windows Café hire mostly in March and April for the next fall. A few remaining staff positions are added during the few weeks before school starts in the fall.

The Depot hires two to three weeks before the start of the fall semester. Additional staff is needed from time to time during the semester and at the beginning of Spring Semester.
